Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity!  Sign up today to ride with Janna Ritacco at the lovely Copperfield Farm in Hume, VA.  Spend the day riding, learning, wrapping and prepping with National Examiners on hand to help, guide and instruct.  Dressage/Flat, SJ and XC!

FIVE Mounted Preps, hosted by VRPC, are scheduled May through September.  These clinics, taught by USPC National Examiners from around the country, are geared toward those VRPC members who are interested in testing at the national level in 2018.

Statistics show that clinic attendees pass at a much higher rate than those who have not taken advantage of these prep clinic opportunities! Sign up now!

The schedule will generally have one flat and one jump session, or two flats for the dressage per prep day. In addition, longeing and bandaging, plus a few new programs, will be fit in mid-day.  These are sections that riders often fail, so this is a chance to recieve some excellent, supervised practice. You will get the most out of a day-long attendance commitment. Attending these preps with other members builds comraderie and encourages learning through auditing, as well. Attendees often get unexpected instruction at setting fences correctly,  developing your eye, etc.

While these sessions are tailored to the C2 and above, mature members age 12 and up who are rising through the levels, are welcome to attend if space allows.  VRPC members are also welcome to audit.

Janna Ritacco is a Graduate HA from Carolina Region.  She has successfully prepped certification candidates through the HA and A levels.  As a National Examiner, Janna tests the HB and HA, as well as the C3, B, and A Traditional, C3 Dressage and C3 Show Jumping. She has competed and coached through Preliminary/CCI* and CIC* level eventing and Second Level dressage.

Janna runs Riverbend Equestrian Park in Greenville, SC, which is a 70 acre, 15 horse, boarding, lesson and show facility.  It is the home base for the Greenville Foothills Pony Club, one of the largest and most active clubs in the Carolina Region.  Janna teaches lessons to D-A Pony Clubbers, Horsemasters, non-Pony Club members, children and adults, as well.

For three years, Janna was the coach for the Furman University Intercollegiate Dressage team, when they had an active IDA team.  She also teaches many members of the Clemson University Eventing Team, who were the 2017 National Champions for Intercollegiate Eventing.

Janna has been actively involved with the USPC InterPacific Exchange and has been able to travel the world and see Pony Club on an international level.  She was the coach for the 2010 USPC team that competed in Hong Kong/China, the 2011 team that competed in New Zealand, the 2013 team that competed in Australia, and the 2015 team that competed in Canada.  In addition, Janna co-organized the exchange here in the United States in 2017.

Janna has her hopes set on going back to Hong Kong in 2019!

When asked what her emphasis and passion were when she teaches, Janna replied, "Basic Balanced Position!  Form equals function!"

Currently, Janna enjoys being the owner of her homebred Belgian draft/TB cross, who is successfully competing at the Preliminary level of eventing with a Graduate A friend of Janna's.  When he's not competing, Janna enjoys fox hunting and participating in hunter paces with him.
